SUMMARY:Towards a GPU-Accelerated Web-Based Graph Rendering Framework for
 Large-Scale Protein Networks
DESCRIPTION:Jiaxin Lu and Landon Dyken (University of Illinois Chicago); S
hilpika Shilpika and Venkatram Vishwanath (Argonne National Laboratory (AN
L)); Michael Papka (University of Illinois Chicago, Argonne National Labor
atory (ANL)); and Sidharth Kumar (University of Illinois Chicago)\n\nWe pr
 esent a WebGPU-based framework for real-time visualization of large-scale
protein–protein interaction (PPI) networks directly in standard browsers.
Built on GraphWaGu, our extended graph rendering API integrates GPU-accele
rated force-directed layout computation with dynamic edge filtering and de
gree-based visual encoding. Users can adjust parameters such as confidence
thresholds, iterations, and cooling factors, with layout updates. This ap
proach sustains high frame rates for networks with millions of edges, miti
gates the hairball effect, and enables biologists to explore complex PPI n
etworks efficiently, intuitively, and without specialized software install
ation.\n\nTag: Research & ACM SRC Posters\n\nRegistration Category: Techni
cal Program Reg Pass\n\nSession Chairs: Kento Sato (RIKEN Center for Compu
tational Science (R-CCS)); Anja Gerbes (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen
); and Chris Schlipalius (Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre; Commonwea
lth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia)\n\
