SUMMARY:European Open Web Index: Large Complex Graph Visualization
DESCRIPTION:Pavlina Smolkova and Katerina Slaninova (IT4Innovations, VSB -
Technical University of Ostrava)\n\nVisualization and processing of (extr
eme) large-scale networks is a challenging task due to unique characterist
ics such as load imbalance, lack of locality, and access irregularity. Con
sidering the possibilities offered by recent supercomputing power, we have
revised current algorithms suitable for the visualization of large-scale
networks and were able to visualize networks in sizes ranging from hundred
s of thousands to millions of nodes. The experiments were performed on the
Karolina supercomputer. We have visualized the European Open Web Index pr
oduced by the OpenWebSearch.eu project. The complexity of the problem is d
iscussed in the context of performance and computation power needed for th
 e visualization of such (extreme) large-scale graphs.\n\nTag: Research & A
