SUMMARY:ATLAS in silico
DESCRIPTION:Ruth West (University of North Texas, xREZ Art + Science Lab);
  Todd Margolis (QLIK); Iman Mostafavi (Overmatch); JP Lewis (NVIDIA Corpor
 ation); Joachim Gossmann (Hochschule für Musik Trossingen); Ben Hackbarth
 (University of Liverpool); Alexander Horn (Independent); Jurgen Schulze (S
 nap Inc.); and Raj Singh (ServiceNow)\n\nA participant interacting with AT
 LAS in silico on the Varrier™ 60 LCD tile, semi-circular, 100-million pixe
 l autostereographic display located at the UC San Diego Calit2 Immersive V
 isualization Laboratory. The interactive virtual environment is created ut
 ilizing the complete first release of the Global Ocean Sampling Expedition
  (GOS) oceanic microorganism metagenomics dataset collected by the J. Crai
 g Venter Institute and computed on the CAMERA (Community Cyberinfrastructu
 re for Advanced Marine Microbial Ecology Research and Analysis) HPC cluste
 r. Participants are immersed in a dream-like, highly abstract, data-driven
  virtual world instantiated as a scalable metadata environment populated w
 ith meta shape grammar objects and associated scalable auditory data signa
 tures. Sponsors include: NSF IIS 084103, CAMERA, Calit2, CPNAS/NAKFI, Da-L
 ite, NVIDIA, Mechdyne/VRco, Meyer Sound. Video available at: https://vime
