DESCRIPTION:Haru Ji (OCAD University) and Graham Wakefield (York Universit
 y)\n\nFungi are everywhere, in the air, in the water, and in the soil, sup
 porting and mediating between the living and non-living, beneath the floor
  of the forest.\n\nEntanglement, inspired by the motif of the forest and i
 ts fungal networks, invites spectators into an environment where visible a
 nd invisible worlds are interconnected and symbiotic. Through the entangle
 ment of microcosmic and simultaneous connections, it offers a sensory oppo
 rtunity for contemplation and inspiration regarding ways of connecting wit
 h the world beyond ourselves, and a vision of a diverse living world in ec
 osystemic balance. To borrow a phrase from Ursula Le Guin: the word for wo
 rld is forest. \n\nThe artwork combines procedural modeling, generative AI
 , and dynamic simulation of a mycorrhizal network of vast numbers of livin
 g organisms. It is grounded in an imperative of drawing attention to the i
 mportance of nonconscious cognition and interspecies communication in biol
 ogical and machine senses, as a reminder of the essential broader world ar
