DESCRIPTION:Mission:\nAt Groq, we are building a custom cloud from the gro
 und up - one data center at a time. Our Compute Storage team owns the syst
 ems that turn racks of bare metal into production-ready Kubernetes cluster
 s powering the next generation of AI workloads.\n\nWe are looking for a Sr
 . Staff Linux Systems Engineer to help us scale this effort. This role foc
 uses on creating a reliable, performant and secure foundation for the Groq
  Cloud. You will work with your infrastructure peers to enable and optimiz
 e compute nodes and storage clusters that form Groq Cloud. We're looking f
 or someone passionate about infrastructure who enjoys debugging close to t

 ptimizing bare metal to support complex distributed HPC in the expanding i
 nference market – we would love to talk.\n\nResponsibilities & opportuniti
 es in this role:\nKernel and OS level enablement and optimization for comp
 ute nodes (GPU, LPU) and storage clusters.\nWork with infrastructure peers
  to define optimal health standards for all production servers, including 
 certified OS, Kernel, BIOS/FW versions.\nStrengthen security posture throu
 gh improving system level CVE response\nDebug and resolve systems level pe
 rformance and reliability issues in the fleet.\nWork with vendors to debug
  and resolve BIOS/FW issues.\nSupport design and deployment of large GPU c
 lusters.\nLead cross-functional collaboration with data center operations,
  networking, and platform teams to ensure infrastructure is fully integrat
 ed and production-ready.\nFollow best practices and standards for infrastr
 ucture-as-code and configuration management using Git, Flux, Terraform, an
 d related tools.\nSet technical direction and maintain high-quality system
  documentation, operational runbooks, and internal tooling that improve th
 e resilience, repeatability, and observability of the infrastructure stack
 .\n\nIdeal candidates have/are:\nExperience with Linux OS management in la
 rge virtualized environments.\nDeep Kernel knowledge with experience worki
 ng with the upstream community to resolve bugs.\nExperience deploying larg
 e GPU clusters with network fabric.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-co
 de and Git-based workflows (e.g., Terraform, Flux, Kustomize).\nAbility to
  write and maintain basic tooling in Go, Python, or Bash.\nUnderstanding o
 f networking fundamentals (IPAM, VLANs, DHCP, DNS).\nWorking knowledge of 
 storage concepts (block vs object, NFS, RAID, etc.).\nStrong sense of owne
 rship and a willingness to dive into hardware, firmware, or low-level prov
 isioning issues.\n\nNice to Have:\nExposure to Talos Linux.\nExperience wi
 th maintaining a production Kubernetes environment.\nHardware SKU definiti
