DESCRIPTION:PNNL is seeking a Senior Data Scientist - AI Assurance Researc
 her who has experience in understanding, exploring, and manipulating the i
 nternal mechanics and behaviors of AI models can provides valuable insight
 s into the decision boundaries and mathematical fingerprints of data prope
 rties. The selected candidate should have extensive experience training mo
 dels, accessing and working with data embeddings, the ability to derive th
 eoretical queries from empirical results, and demonstrate the capacity to 
 translate research papers and findings into mission relevant insights and 
 tools.\n\n \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead the design and execution of m
 achine learning (ML) experiments that follow the current best practices wi
 thin the community, including large scale experiments on HPC (e.g. experim
 ents that take a week) \nEvaluate AI systems across multiple axes, includi
 ng standard performance metrics but also generalization to out-of-distribu
 tion settings \nLead the development of high-quality research code along w
 ith instituting best practices to enable research integration \nAssess emp
 irical results to determine and decide future research and experimental st
 eps \nConduct work in secure environments and execute work from an operati
 onal security perspective\n \n\nThis position is based in either Richland,
