DESCRIPTION:The role\nThe Calc Farm Platform Services team develops and ma
 nages a large high-performance compute (HPC) platform to enable the busine
 ss to conduct complex research at scale. We are seeking a highly motivated
  person to join our team to help us continue to push the envelope running 
 batch workloads on Kubernetes. \nThe ideal candidate will have an active i
 nterest in Kubernetes and batch computing, a broad range of experience wit
 h software engineering and development, as well as experience managing lar
 ge-scale infrastructure and complex tooling environments.\nThe main focus 
 will be on Armada - an exciting open source CNCF project built and maintai
 ned by the team - which we use to solve multi-cluster Kubernetes batch job
  scheduling at scale.\nYou’ll join an experienced team, working at the cut
 ting-edge of ML workloads and at scale.\n\nKey responsibilities of the rol
 e include: \n•	Designing and developing high-quality software solutions us
 ing procedural programming languages, with a focus on Golang\n•	Building a
 nd maintaining highly scalable, highly available and globally distributed 
 systems to support large-scale research workloads\n•	Managing and optimizi
 ng data interactions across relational and non-relational databases, parti
 cularly PostgreSQL\n•	Developing and operating containerized applications 
 within Kubernetes, ensuring effective orchestration and workload schedulin
 g\n•	Supporting, tuning and troubleshooting Linux-based systems as part of
  our core compute platform\n•	Applying core networking knowledge to help d
 ebug, optimize and enhance platform connectivity and performance\n•	Indepe
 ndently diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across infrastru
 cture and software layers\n•	Applying solid software architecture principl
 es, computer science fundamentals and data structure knowledge to guide de
