SUMMARY:Bridging the Gap: Making Quantum-Classical Hybridization Work in H
 PC
DESCRIPTION:Grahame Vittorini (Quantinuum); Silvina Caino-Lores (Inria); R
osa Badia (Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)); Shantenu Jha (Rutgers U
niversity); Oliver Thomson Brown (Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPC
C)); Tom Beck (Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)); Elica Kyoseva (NVIDI
A Corporation); and Mitsuhisa Sato (RIKEN Center for Computational Science
(R-CCS), Juntendo University)\n\nQuantum-classical hybrid computing is mo
ving from theory to reality, yet no clear roadmap exists for how best to i
ntegrate quantum processing units (QPUs) into established HPC environments
. In this BoF, we hope to bring together a global community of HPC practit
ioners, system architects, quantum computing specialists, and workflow res
earchers, including participants in the Workflow Community Initiative, to
assess the state of hybrid integration and identify practical steps toward
scalable, impactful deployment.\n\nThis BoF will be highly interactive, d
rawing on the experience and expertise of all participants via a series of
parallel breakout sessions focused on four anchor topics: \n\n• Hybrid Ap
plications, Workflows and Use-Cases \n• Middleware for Dataflow and Workfl
ow Orchestration \n• Software Integration and Performance Engineering \n•
State of the Industry: Practice and People\n\nCo-led by a diverse and glob
al organizing team representing BCS, DOE, EPCC, Inria, ORNL, NVIDIA, Quant
inuum, and RIKEN, our goals are to: \n\n• Share early experiences from hyb
rid HPC+QC deployments \n• Identify best practices across software, hardwa
re, and workflow integration \n• Accelerate knowledge-sharing to ensure th
e community progresses efficiently \n• Encourage collaboration and converg
ence around architectural, workflow and programming models \n• Provide a s
pace for peer-to-peer discussion, discovery, and problem-solving across in
stitutions and disciplines\n\nFormat: \n\n1) 20-minute introduction to the
BoF and the four anchor topics \n2) 45-minute breakout group discussions\
n3) 25-minute regroup to share challenges, learnings and open questions to
the full group with time for final thoughts and contributions and commitm
ents for ongoing collaboration and further engagement at future industry g
