Cate Berard is the Program Manager for Electronics Stewardship and Data Center Efficiency in the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Sustainable Environmental Stewardship. Cate directly supports Departmental policies and programs related to electronics stewardship, such as sustainable procurement, efficient operations, and responsible end-of-life management, and data center efficiency and optimization. Cate participates in a variety of IT-related standard development activities through IEEE, NSF and UL. She also chairs the inter-agency IT Sustainability Subcommittee under the U.S. Federal CIO Council. Cate holds a B.S. from James Madison University and an M.S. from Johns Hopkins University.
