Biography
Dr. Swaroop Pophale is a computer scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Over a decade she has worked extensively on programming models for both shared and distributed systems. She has expertise in Partitioned Global Address Space programming model languages and libraries as well as shared memory programming models like OpenMP and OpenACC. More recently, her work has expanded to the use of AI and large language models for HPC development. Her research interests include compiler-based static analysis tools, benchmark development, architecture-specific application tuning, and applications of AI for HPC. She has over 30 peer-reviewed publications in HPC-centered conferences and workshops. She has been on the technical committees of prestigious conferences such as SC (2023, 2024, 2025), ISC (2020, 2021, 2025), ICPP (2022, 2023, 2025), HPDC (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), and CCGrid (2018, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024), to name a few.
