Ryad Benosman
Biography
Dr. B. Ryad Benosman is a leading pioneer in neuromorphic engineering and event-based vision, known for his groundbreaking work in developing brain-inspired visual sensing systems. He is the chief scientist at TempoSense Labs, and an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. He was also a director of research at Meta. His research focuses on creating event-driven sensors and algorithms that mimic the human brain’s visual processing, significantly improving speed, efficiency, and adaptability in artificial vision systems. Ryad co-developed the first event-based retina sensor and has co-founded several startups, including Prophesee and Pixium Vision, bringing his innovations to both industry and medicine. With over 200 publications and numerous patents, his work is shaping the future of intelligent sensing, robotics, and neuroprosthetics.
