Parth Patel is a Software Engineer in the Data Science and Learning Division at Argonne National Laboratory. His current work focuses on the intersection of AI and HPC, with a particular emphasis on building scalable, resilient scientific applications. He has contributed to projects at both Argonne and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), including the optimization of AlphaFold2, DeepMind’s protein structure prediction model—work that earned the 2023 HPCwire Readers’ Choice Award for “Best Use of HPC in Life Sciences”. Parth holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT Kancheepuram. His research interests span federated learning, distributed systems, and machine learning infrastructure development, all aimed at accelerating scientific breakthroughs through AI4Science applications.
