Ganesh Gopalakrishnan is a professor of computer science at the University of Utah Kahlert School of Computing. He has contributed to correctness-checking methods for MPI (message-passing interface), multicore/thread systems, GPU concurrency, floating-point error and exception analysis, and binary instrumentation of GPU kernels. He has been the primary advisor to 29 graduated PhD students, mentored over 65 undergraduates, and led an NSF REU Site on Trust and Reproducibility of Intelligent Computation. He has authored two textbooks: "Computation Engineering" (Springer, 2006) and "Automata and Computability: A Programmer's Perspective" (Taylor and Francis, 2019)—the latter is available for free, with the publisher's permission, at his website (www.cs.utah.edu/~ganesh).

Ganesh won the University of Utah Beacons of Excellence Award in 2012 for undergraduate mentoring. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an ACM Distinguished Scientist. His research is supported by NSF and DOE, as detailed on his website.
