Hemal Shah

Biography
Hemal Shah is a Distinguished Engineer in the Core Switching Group (CSG) at Broadcom Inc., where he is responsible for the definition of system/software architecture and the roadmap of Ethernet NIC product lines. Hemal is one of the key architects of end-to-end Ethernet networking solutions for AI, HPC, storage, and cloud infrastructures. He spearheaded the development of stateless offloads, virtualization, SR-IOV, QoS, RoCE, vSwitch offloads, management, and security features of Broadcom NICs. Prior to Broadcom, Hemal worked at Intel, where he led the development of system architecture of communication processors, 10G Ethernet controllers, and TCP/iSCSI/RDMA/security offloads. Hemal is the SVP of Technology in DMTF and a project co-lead of OCP's Hardware Management project. He has co-authored several OCP specifications, 70+ DMTF specifications, four IETF RFCs, 10+ conference/journal papers, and 40+ patents. Hemal holds a PhD and MSCS from Purdue University, an MSEE from UofA, and a BS from Gujarat University.
