Takemasa Miyoshi

Biography
Dr. Takemasa Miyoshi is a team principal at the RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) and a team director at the RIKEN Center for Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences (iTHEMS). His research focuses on data assimilation, numerical weather prediction, and the fusion of HPC simulation with AI. His team's work on real-time forecasting was recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Gordon Bell Prize for Climate Modelling. An author of more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Miyoshi has received numerous awards, including the Meteorological Society of Japan Award and the Award for Science and Technology from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. He received his PhD in meteorology from the University of Maryland.
