Biography
Dr. Osman Sabri Ünsal (DARE project) is currently the Group Manager of the Computer Architecture for Parallel Paradigms team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), a role he has held since 2006. He co-manages multidisciplinary teams and has led major European-funded research projects, including VELOX, ParaDIME, RETHINK big, and LEGaTO, focusing on topics such as energy-efficient computer architecture, hardware-software co-design and hardware reliability. He is currently leading the DARE project to develop Europe-designed chiplet-based processors. He has also served on the Management Board of the BSC-Microsoft Research Centre and contributed to the Intel and BSC Joint Exascale Laboratory. Dr. Ünsal holds a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MS in electrical engineering from Brown University, and a BS in control and computer engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
