Shri E. Magesh, Director General of C-DAC, leads key national missions including the National Supercomputing Mission, Microprocessor Development Programme, and Mission Mode Programs in HPC, AI, Cyber Security, Quantum, and Next-Generation Computing. With over 30 years of experience, he brings deep expertise in design engineering, project delivery, VLSI, CHIP design, and system-on-chip (SoC) integration—spanning from front-end to tape-out and silicon validation. He has steered the development of more than 25 ASICs, C-DAC’s indigenous 32/64-bit RISC-V processors under the VEGA series, and SoCs like THEJAS under the National Microprocessor Development Programme. His leadership has supported India's first HPC SoC and solutions for Safe City and Smart City initiatives, strengthening India's self-reliance under AatmaNirbhar Bharat and Digital India. Since June 2023, he has served as Director General (Additional Charge) of C-MET, driving advanced materials R&D in compound semiconductors, ultra-high purity materials, quantum and 2D materials, and circular economy solutions for next-gen electronics.
