Takeshi Iwashita received his BE, ME, and PhD degrees from Kyoto University in 1992, 1995, and 1998, respectively. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in a JSPS project at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. He joined the Data Processing Center at Kyoto University in 2000. From 2003 to 2014, he was an associate professor at the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS), Kyoto University. From 2014 to 2023, he held the position of professor at the Information Initiative Center, Hokkaido University. Since 2023, he has been a professor at ACCMS.

Takeshi's research interests include high performance computing, iterative linear solvers, and electromagnetic field analysis. He is a member of IEEE, SIAM, and ACM. He served as the General Chair of HPC Asia 2020 and has been a program committee member for several international conferences, including SC, ICS, and ICPP.
