Nicolás Erdödy founded Open Parallel in 2010 as a strategic R&D consultancy, specializing in next-gen high-tech ecosystems. A globally distributed company, OP has delivered bespoke projects and business and market development strategies for dozens of clients internationally. Officially selected by the New Zealand Government, from 2012-2019 OP contributed to the computing platform of the Square Kilometre Array radiotelescope project (SKA). Core knowledge developed for the SKA is behind OP’s project “Whakarongo ki te Whenua” (Listen to the Land)—a massive platform concept for NZ’s Agritech and primary sector. Nicolás created and led the Agriculture Empowered by Supercomputing BoF series at SC23, SC24, and ISC25 (Germany). Nicolás is the Conference Director of Multicore World—a globally recognized conference held yearly in New Zealand. He holds a Master of Entrepreneurship from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and studied hydraulics (and Fortran) at the School of Engineering, Universidad de la República, Uruguay.
