Biography
Mark Hereld is a Senior Scientist in the Mathematics and Computer Science division of Argonne National Laboratory, with appointments at the University of Chicago and at the University of Illinois Chicago. His research interests include image reconstruction methods (pinned insect digitization, computational microscopy); closed-loop laboratory automation using robotics, machine learning, and computer vision; modeling and simulation of the neocortex (understanding epilepsy); and analysis workflows for high performance computing platforms. He values interdisciplinary collaborations and prefers cross-cutting projects.
