He co-founded and co-directs the Quantum Algorithms and Applications Collaboratory (QuAAC), where he leads a team focused on understanding the nature of quantum computational advantage and how it can be leveraged for problems in science and engineering. Andrew got his doctorate in physics and electrical engineering from Michigan State University in 2013, after which he took a postdoctoral position at Sandia where has been ever since. When he isn't doing science, Andrew enjoys finding new and exciting ways to stay away from screens and has only had to be rescued by a helicopter once.
