Dr. Antonio J. Peña is a lead researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), where he leads the Accelerators and Communications for HPC group. He is also on the teaching and research staff at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Antonio has been a Ramón y Cajal Fellow, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow, and a Juan de la Cierva Fellow. He received the 2023 Betancourt y Molina Award from the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, and a 2017 IEEE TCHPC Early Career Researchers Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing. A Senior Member of ACM and IEEE, he is involved in the organization and steering committees of several conferences and workshops, including SC, IEEE Cluster, and ASHES, and has served on more than 50 technical committees for conferences and workshops. He is co-author of 100+ indexed papers, and his research interests are in the area of runtime systems and programming models.
