Biography
Dan Bonachea is a Computer Systems Engineer with the Computer Languages and System Software (CLaSS) Group in the Berkeley Lab Computing Sciences Area, working as the Lead System Architect for CLaSS. Dan is the original designer of the GASNet communication system, and has made significant design and implementation contributions to the Fortran, UPC, UPC++ and Titanium programming languages/models. Dan has been working with Berkeley Lab since 2001, starting as a graduate student researcher while studying at U.C. Berkeley (advisor: Katherine Yelick). Current research interests include Partitioned Global Address Space (PGAS) programming models, and networking protocols for High-Performance Computing (HPC).
