Biography
Ashna Nawar Ahmed is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Texas State University, where she researches the intersection of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Multi-Objective Optimization, and Machine Learning under the guidance of Dr. Tanzima Islam. Originally from Bangladesh, she earned her B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering as the 1st Merit Position holder at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and later served as a lecturer there. Her research focuses on energy-efficient and performance-aware resource allocation strategies in HPC systems. Ashna recently completed a research internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory through the Graduate Research at ORNL (GRO) program, working on application fingerprinting for workload optimization. As a woman in HPC from the Global South and mentored by a female advisor, she is passionate about inclusive research communities and contributing to environmentally responsible computing at scale.
