Seppo Sahrakorpi has a PhD in computational physics from Tampere University of Technology in Finland. He has worked in the IT and HPC fields for over 25 years as an academic, systems administrator, HPC support engineer, lead architect, project manager, and entrepreneur. Seppo has worked in academia (Tampere University of Technology, Northeastern University, Harvard University, McMaster University), the non-profit sector (Canadian Research Data Center Network, Digital Research Alliance of Canada), and the private sector (TotalView Technologies, Pilvi Computing Inc.). Prior to joining the Alliance, he worked at CRDCN as a Lead IT Architect and team lead, designing a state-of-the-art advanced research computing/HPC IT infrastructure for a coalition of multiple universities and federal agencies. At the Alliance, Seppo has contributed to strategy and planning of the Alliance's digital research infrastructure as a Senior Analyst (ARC/HPC), and more recently as a Lead HPC Architect.
