Dan Palermo
Biography
Dan Palermo received a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he researched “Compiler Techniques for Optimizing Communication and Data Distribution for Distributed-Memory Multicomputers.” He has been a key contributor to many compiler projects over the years targeting a wide variety of CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators in both distributed and shared memory system architectures. He is currently a senior manager at AMD leading the LLVM Flang compiler team focusing on OpenMP offloading support for AMD GPUs.
