Angel Pizarro is a Principal Developer Advocate at Amazon Web Services (AWS), specializing in high performance and high-throughput computing. With over 20 years of experience in research computing, bioinformatics, and large-scale scientific computing, Angel has played a pivotal role in developing scalable system architectures for genomics and life sciences. His work focuses on democratizing access to large datasets and advancing cloud architectures for scientific research.
Prior to his current role, Angel held several leadership and technical positions, including Cloud Solutions Architect at Google, Associate Director at Illumina, and Director of Bioinformatics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His expertise spans both research and operational aspects of computational resources for biomedical science.
