Biography
Christie Alappat received his master’s degree with honors from the Bavarian Graduate School of Computational Engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He is in the final stages of completing his doctoral studies under the guidance of Professor Gerhard Wellein. Christie's research interests include performance engineering, sparse matrix and graph algorithms, iterative linear solvers, and eigenvalue computation. He is the author of the RACE open-source software framework, which is used to accelerate challenging computations in sparse linear algebra on modern compute devices. He is also the lead author of a paper that received the SIAM Activity Group on Supercomputing (SIAG/SC) Best Paper Prize in 2024.
