Biography
My name is Joshua-James, and I am a rising second-year Master of Computer Science student at Rice University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, where I conducted research in AI and RISC-V processor design.

I previously served as a DevOps engineer at Argonne National Laboratory, where I automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Apache Maven, improving deployment speed and reliability across multiple Java-based research modules. Currently, I am continuing research at Argonne, focusing on fine-tuning an AI agentic framework to study how low-dose radiation impacts human lung epithelial cells using single-cell RNA sequencing data.

My academic and research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, computational biology, and high-performance computing. I am passionate about applying large-scale AI systems to real-world scientific challenges, particularly in human health and biology. My goal is to develop interpretable, scalable AI tools for biological discovery and personalized medicine.

In addition to my technical work, I am committed to mentorship and representation in STEM. I aim to serve as a blueprint for underrepresented students navigating academic and professional spaces in engineering and computer science.
