Biography
Maanak Gupta (Senior Member, IEEE) is an associate professor of computer science at Tennessee Tech University, USA. He received his PhD from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Cyber Security, USA. His primary areas of research include security and privacy in cyber space, including AI-assisted cybersecurity, security of AI systems, and their applications in technologies including critical infrastructure. He was recognized as the 2016 RSA Security Scholar, and received the 2019 Computer Science Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation award. He has received several technical awards, including the Kinslow Engineering Research Award (2022 and 2024), the Wings Up 100 award (2022-2024), the University of Texas at San Antonio Innovation Award (2024), and the CEROC Cyber Excellence Faculty Research Award (2024). His research is funded by grants from the U.S. National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Department of Defense, and NASA.
