Helena Vela Beltran is a computational scientist at Do IT Now (Spain), where she leads European projects and focuses on high performance computing (HPC), AI/ML environments, and complex software stacks. She specializes in optimizing workflows, tuning HPC applications, and contributing to open-source projects, while also supporting researchers through training, documentation, and user engagement.

Previously, she worked as an HPC engineer at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, developing monitoring tools, supporting users, and teaching HPC systems. She has also taught embedded systems at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and introduced students to programming and robotics at Camptech. Helena earned her degree in computer engineering from the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona.

She is an active member of the Mediterranean (MAR) Chapter of Women in HPC, helping to foster fellowship, education, and networking opportunities for women in the HPC community.
