Biography
Sheng Di is a computer scientist in the Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) division of Argonne National Laboratory. His current research interests include lossy compression for scientific datasets, high performance computing, cloud computing, and fault tolerance. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, and a Scientist at-Large with the Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering (CASE) at the University of Chicago. Sheng received the R&D 100 Award in 2019 and 2021, as well as the DOE 2021 Early Career Research Program Award. He is also the recipient of the 2018 IEEE-Chicago Distinguished Mentoring Award and the 2019 IEEE-Chicago Distinguished Research and Development Award.
