Biography
Nick Contini is a graduate research associate in the Network-Based Computing Lab at Ohio State University, as well as a research aide at Argonne National Laboratory in the X-Ray Science Division. His research focuses on implementing high-performance communication for application-specific hardware targeting HPC workloads. He also contributes to the MVAPICH project, particularly optimizations for GPU support and compression-based operations. As a research aide, he develops digital logic for on-detector computing and designs application-specific mixed-precision computation. Before starting his PhD, he was a software engineer at 2K Games for five years, where he developed tools and libraries for the NBA2K franchise. His research interests are dataflow architectures, edge computing, application-specific accelerators, and hardware design frameworks.
