Zhiling Lan is a full professor of computer science at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). She also holds a joint appointment with Argonne National Laboratory. Previously, she was a tenured full professor of computer science at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2023. Her research interests lie in the field of high performance computing (HPC), with particular emphasis on resource management and job scheduling, performance modeling and simulation, fault tolerance, and power efficiency. She has served as an editorial board member for the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, as well as a program chair and program committee member for various international conferences such as SC, IPDPS, HPDC, ICS, Cluster, CCGrid, JSSPP, and SIGSIM PADS, among others.
