Biography
Jan Frederik Engels is a computational physicist with 15 years of experience in high performance computing (HPC). For almost 10 years, he has been part of the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ), where he works on the development and debugging of the ICON model and the HPC systems it runs on, including some of the largest supercomputers in Europe. His current focus lies in developments for the efficient utilization of exascale architectures, fostering open development practices for ICON, and improving the energy efficiency of HPC workloads.
