Zhiguang Chen's areas of research include big data storage and processing, parallel and distributed computing, high performance computing, and supercomputers. He received his bachelor's degree in computer science and technology in 2007 from the Harbin Institute of Technology, and his master's degree (2009) and PhD (2013) in computer science and technology from the National University of Defense Technology.

Zhiguang worked in the School of Computer Science at the National University of Defense Technology from 2013 to 2018. He is currently a professor in the School of Computer Science at Sun Yat-sen University.
