Dr. Tim Dykes is a senior research engineer in the HPC & AI EMEA Research Lab within HPE Labs, the research organisation of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He has a PhD from the University of Portsmouth, U.K., in a cross disciplinary study of HPC, astrophysics, and computer graphics. He joined the Cray supercomputing company in 2017 from Bristol, U.K., where he worked on application coupling and heterogeneous memory management in high performance applications. He joined HPE as part of the Cray acquisition, where he is now involved in various projects both internal and with large supercomputing customer sites focusing on cutting edge HPC and AI research. His research interests include heterogeneous high performance architectures, performance engineering, digital twins and scientific visualisation.
