Tevfik Kosar is a Professor of Computer Science
and Engineering at the State University of New
York at Buffalo. He received his Ph.D. in Computer
Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
in 2005. His main research interests include opti-
mization of the performance, scalability, and sus-
tainability of distributed systems, high-performance
computing, and big-data analytics pipelines. Some of
the awards received by Dr. Kosar include the NSF
CAREER Award, IBM Research Award, Google
Research Award, IEEE Region-I Technological In-
novation Award, UB Senior Faculty Research and Teaching Award, and UB
Exceptional Scholar: Sustained Achievement Award. Dr. Kosar is a Senior
Member of the IEEE.
