Biography
Waylon W. Luo is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Kent State University under the supervision of Dr. Qiang Guan. He studied physics and mathematics. He worked as a software developer and a game character designer before starting his Ph.D. program. His research focuses on quantum-cloud and hybrid quantum–HPC workload-management frameworks, including the development of QCloudSim—a digital twin for quantum cloud infrastructures—and HybridCloudSim, an extension that integrates classical HPC and quantum cloud simulation. His work has been published in ACM SIGSIM-PADS 2025 and ICPP 2025. His work explores digital-twin modeling, reinforcement-learning-based scheduling, and noise-aware simulation for distributed quantum systems.
