Jean Luca Bez

Biography
Dr. Jean Luca Bez is a Research Scientist in the Scientific Data Management Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His research focuses on improving I/O performance for HPC applications, enabling scientists to manage data efficiently. He has authored over 50 scientific publications and actively contributes to HPC, I/O, and storage communities, including roles with SIGHPC, IO500, and the NERSC User Group Executive Committee (NUGEX). Jean Luca holds a PhD in computer science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He was awarded first place in the Contest of Thesis and Dissertations in Computer Architecture and High-Performance Computing, promoted by the Brazilian Computing Society.
