Biography
Shanshan Wu is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing, specializing in computational biology with expertise in molecular modeling, biomolecular simulations, and structure-based drug discovery. Her current research focuses on protein dynamics, ligand binding mechanisms, and the development of computational methods for studying protein–ligand interactions. She earned her PhD in bioinformatics from the University of Illinois Chicago, where she applied molecular dynamics simulations and energy decomposition techniques to investigate mechanisms of critical protein conformational changes. She also holds a BS in chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Wu has a diverse background, has published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and actively collaborates across disciplines to integrate physics-based modeling with data-driven approaches for advancing both fundamental understanding and therapeutic discovery.
