Etienne Walter (NET4EXA, EPI projects) is a senior expert and project director in the R&D of Atos Advanced Computing Division. He is currently coordinating the European Processor Initiative (EPI) as General Manager. Etienne studied computer science and graduated as an engineer from Supélec (now CentraleSupélec, part of Paris-Saclay University). He worked as a software engineer, team manager, and project manager in the telecommunications domain before joining Atos/Eviden R&D division. He has been involved in HPC and Big Data projects for several years and was the project coordinator of the Mont-Blanc H2020 projects (Mont-Blanc 3 and Mont-Blanc 2020), while also contributing to the preparation of the EPI project.

Etienne's scientific and technical background is in general computer science, telecommunications systems, and high performance computing.
