Nong Xiao, PhD, is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou at Sun Yat-sen University, as well as a professor in the College of Computer Science at the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT). He obtained his bachelor's and doctoral degrees in computer science from NUDT. Dr. Xiao is a recipient of the National High-Level Talent Program from the Ministry of Education, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a Fellow of the China Computer Federation (CCF).

Dr. Xiao's research areas include cloud computing and network computing (cloud computing and storage systems, in-memory computing, high-performance big data computing systems); big data storage, analysis, and processing (parallel algorithms for big data analysis and processing, large-scale solid-state storage); and system architecture (novel data-intensive computing systems).
