Biography
Brian Dourty serves as Associate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Office of Information Technology. He leads enterprise-wide IT strategy, overseeing infrastructure, systems, cloud services, cyberinfrastructure, and research computing efforts.
Under his leadership, the Cyberinfrastructure & Research Services (CIRC) department has expanded its offerings—managing high performance computing resources like Ganymede, Ganymede 2, and the new flagship cluster Juno, and providing full lifecycle support including software consulting, parallelization, workflow optimization, and cloud integration.
This operational framework underpinned UTD’s presence at SC24, where the HPC@UTD team—including Dourty—helped build scene‑high‑speed SciNet infrastructure and showcased campus innovations and demos to thousands of peers.
As UTD deploys Juno in Spring 2025, Dourty’s leadership in aligning institutional cyberinfrastructure with the broader supercomputing community is integral to advancing both the university’s research reach and visibility.
