James Quinlan is the chair of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern Maine. His research focuses on mixed-precision algorithms in numerical linear algebra, particularly using next-generation computer arithmetic. He is co-author of “Explorations in Numerical
Analysis and Machine Learning with Julia.”
