Its unique programming model, and the highly sophisticated error detection mechanisms, greatly simplify the development of high performance GPU applications. The resulting programs can run on a wide range of target platforms, from supercomputers to embedded systems and mobile devices, and utilize GPUs from all major GPU vendors.
