Exhibitor Description
IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) is a leading research, development, and innovation centre in High-Performance Computing (HPC), High-Performance Data Analysis (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing (QC). Together with CESNET and CERIT-SC, it forms e-INFRA CZ, the strategic research infrastructure of the Czech Republic, providing advanced computational services to academia, industry, and public institutions. The flagship system Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s), acquired as part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, is the most powerful supercomputer in the Czech Republic. In September 2025, IT4Innovations inaugurated VLQ – the first Czech quantum computer, featuring 24 superconducting qubits arranged in a star topology. VLQ represents a significant step toward developing national expertise in quantum computing and its integration with classical HPC systems. The centre also operates a cluster, Barbora, and an NVIDIA DGX-2 system, supporting specialised HPC and AI workloads. Research at IT4Innovations spans big data analytics, machine learning, parallel algorithm development, engineering simulations, visualisation and virtual reality, materials and nanotechnology modelling, and quantum computing applications. The centre also acts as a Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) recognised by the European Commission and is deeply involved in education and training in HPC, AI, and QC, nurturing the next generation of computational experts.
